1. What Is A Sankalpa

What Is A Sankalpa?

When we surrender, totally surrender, to whatever ignites the action of surrendering, we completely open. First our extremities, hands and feet, then our limbs let go into the surface. Then our hearts open and a wave of energy ripples out, through the whole body when we deeply let go and completely surrender.

Our minds sinks down into our hearts and our heart expands wide open. Awareness of external things starts to fade and we feel strong, boundless, open and free. With that, we react either with;

  • Awareness (listening action)
  • Contemplative
  • Tears (from a mixture of feeling)
  • Laughter (from a mixture of feelings)

It is here in this place of an open heart we can we get to know our ‘Sankalpa’. Without education, heritage, peer pressure, you can witness your ‘deepest heart’s calling’, that which is know as a Sankalpa.

What Will You Get From This ?

This course will teach you how to:

  • Drop into your heart
  • Listen to it
  • Interpret its message
  • Formulate it into words
  • Discover its opponent force
  • Teach you how to deal with this opposite force
  • How to develop your Sankalpa’s resolve and put it into practice.

A Sanklaps is a Sanskrit word meaning a life’s intention.

You may see it as a:

  • Resolve
  • Goal / aim
  • Path / purpose or life's work
  • Moral code / law
  • Aspiration

Another why to see it is as the ascendent and descendent points in our astrology charts. The point at the start of our birth and the descendant point at the time of our passing. This is not to say it predicts our death. Nothing has the exact power to do that. A descendent point simply shows what type of person we have the potential to be and where we are heading to, in the journey of life.

When we surrender, our minds sinks into our hearts and our awareness of external things fade. We feel strong, boundless, open, free. In that space we may react with;

  • Awareness (the action of listening)
  • Contemplation (the action of wisdom thing)
  • Tears (from a mixture of feelings)
  • Laughter (from a mixture of feelings).

‘At times you have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover is yourself.’

Alan Alda

In a totally open heart we come come to know the mystery of WHYS! (why are we are here?) And what we are meant to be doing? These reflections can be viewed as a;

  • A wise monitor
  • A representative of the essential nature of all things
  • The all knowing
  • Fate

Without a point contemplative reference, where are we? One may ask and what becomes of us? This is why many of us suffer from depression as well as not having the means to achieve our goals. Later you will be given the time and guidance (in contemplative reflection) on ways you can break your purpose down in to baby steps and address the main steps that have been holding you back.

Feeling Lost!

By now you may have realised how important it is to have a purpose in life and the familiar feelings of not having one. Without direction or purpose unhappiness and disconnection sets in.

We can’t turn the clocks back to capture the feelIng of our birth, but even if we could.... what good would that do? Likewise: to the unknown moment of our last breath and back to this moment in time will not help us to know our purpose. We can however feel this moment of now and come to realise why we are here. In this very moment we can access the point at which we are living our truth, including how far we’ve strayed from our truth.

The world is filled with so much unpleasantries, it makes sense to weather them, by developing strength. A strength that comes from being in alignment.  Alignment with ourselves, excels to alignment in our externals world. This way life runs more smoothly.

The less storms we weather the more we’re able to accomplish our life’s goal.

The way to be in the moment of ‘now’ is to be in the space at our hearts.
